“Stuff the farmers” – Scottish Government defers CAP failure fine to October

The Scottish Government has just announced that the EU has agreed to extend the CAP payment deadline to October 15th.

“This is great news for everyone.” A spokeswoman for Scottish Government told us over a pint in the Leaky Cauldron

“For the IT suppliers they can charge even more money for completely failing to deliver”

“For the loan sharks and debt collectors circling the farmers they know that the farmers now won’t see their money until well after October 15th”

“For the Scottish Government senior officers they can get their early retirement in before everything officially collapses   ”

“For the Scottish Government per se, they can defer their £120m fine until October.”

“Oh, and stuff the farmers!”
