It has recently been announced that David Cameron is to take personal charge of an immigration taskforce which has been set up to oversee delivery of policy pledges.
Part of its remit will be to deliver on the Conservatives’ promise to reduce net migration to “tens of thousands”.
A source claiming to be close to the Prime Minster informed us that in order to reduce costs, the the Immigration Task Force is to be staffed with up to 10,000 Tier 2 migrants.
“UK staff are expensive and have employment rights.” the source told us, “Tier 2 migrants do not have employment rights and are much cheaper. Around 10,000 of them will be brought in as Highly Skilled IT workers – we’ve done it before and the Home Office have been told to turn a blind eye to it. After five years they can get indefinite leave to stay.”
