Dom’s Diary – December 18th, 2014 – How to Blow the Whistle

Civil Service News has just broadcast a company wide email on how to blow the whistle, and the importance of whistleblowers to the public sector.

For goodness sake, that’s all we need on this chuffin project.

Whistleblowers played a part in exposing public service failures in connection with the Hillsborough disaster and the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, but many of us don’t know how to make a complaint about wrongdoing or what protection we are entitled to. Head of the Civil Service Sir Jeremy Heywood explains why people should be encouraged to raise concerns, why whistleblowers should be supported, and how the new, beefed-up guidance on whistleblowing will help them.
